Creativeworld 2022: International trade fair combines creativity and business at the usual high level

Creativeworld is the international trade fair for hobby, craft and artists’ supplies and has been combining creativity and business under one roof for more than ten years. For the event from 29 January to 1 February 2022 about 180 exhibitors from 26 countries are already firmly registered. This shows that Creativeworld is the most important international industry platform and a reliable partner for the trade, even in volatile times caused by Covid 19. A positive sign that the trade fair is being held on an international level is the above-average EU-compliant inoculation rate among export-oriented customers – exhibitors and visitors alike. This was determined by a survey of Messe Frankfurt’s global network of subsidiaries and sales partners.

The current Covid 19 situation in Germany and the world is currently causing uncertainty, especially with regard to trade fair events. “Just under nine weeks before the start of Creativeworld, we at Messe Frankfurt are pleased to say: Creativeworld will again be the world’s largest industry platform for hobby, craft and artists’ supplies in the coming year. With 16,000 gross square meters rented and 180 binding commitments on the exhibitor side, it will be smaller in 2022 than in previous years, but will still offer a unique variety of products for trade visitors,” says Philipp Ferger, Vice President Consumer Goods Fairs. “We are particularly pleased about a great demand from manufacturers from abroad.

France, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain in particular, but also the USA, Japan and Korea will be represented in large numbers in January,” Ferger continues.

In addition, as usual, there will be a supporting program with valuable impulses and suggestions. Additional synergies will be provided by the Christmasworld trade fairs taking place in parallel with seasonal decorations and festive decorations, and by Paperworld with its range of products for paper, office supplies, and stationery.

The international vaccination rates and the assessments from the most important exhibitor and visitor countries are very optimistic. “Even if the obligation for presenting a vaccination certificate or documents of recovery from Covid 19 remains in place at the end of January, strong international participation would be realistic and achievable,” says Ferger. A survey conducted by Messe Frankfurt’s global sales network, among exhibitors and visitors to consumer goods fairs, revealed an above-average EU-compliant vaccination rate of up to 99 percent.”

According to the results of this random sample so far, the picture is clear: From the top 10 Creativeworld visitor countries such as the UK, the Netherlands, Spain and France, the USA, Israel as well as Japan, the majority of exhibitors and visitors are already fully vaccinated with the vaccines approved in the EU. The same applies to B2B customers from other visitor nations from North and South America, Asia, the Middle East and Africa, who also have an above-average vaccination rate and can therefore enter Germany.

According to the assessment of the subsidiaries and sales partners, a large proportion of the internationally active exhibitors and visitors in many countries have already taken care of the question of vaccination recognition and EU-compliant vaccination protection at a very early stage, so that they can now apply for flights and visas without any problems.

This is a confident result of the surveys conducted by Messe Frankfurt’s subsidiaries and sales partners. They have been in active contact with exhibitors and visitors in all major countries for decades, providing information on the vaccines permitted in Germany and support with regard to travel, hotels and German entry regulations. “We are very pleased that the intensive contacts of our local representatives all over the world confirm that we can assume a stable, high vaccination rate of our customers. We are convinced, safe and successful trade fairs are not only possible under the given circumstances, but also extremely important for trade to pick up again worldwide,” says Ferger. “Because one thing is certain: the great demand for creative products and materials is and will remain unbroken. The DIY trend has continued to grow over the past two years and with it it´s community. At Creativeworld, manufacturers and retailers will finally once again have the opportunity to exchange information about the latest trends and creative techniques live on site. After all, it is precisely with products such as paints, brushes, pens and papers that the haptic experience is of great importance,” sums up Ferger.

Safety and hygiene concept for safe trade fair attendance

Messe Frankfurt’s safety and hygiene concept was developed together with the responsible authorities of the State of Hesse and with recommendations from the Robert Koch Institute and is regularly adapted to current conditions. The safety of all exhibitors, visitors, partners and employees is the top priority. Measures include 100 percent fresh air supply in the exhibition halls, generous design of halls and entrances to maintain safety distances, intensive cleaning measures, a hygiene-adapted catering concept and the proven wearing of mouth and nose protection.

Ticket store now open

The ticket store is available online. One important change from previous years is that only online tickets can be purchased for the trade shows. In 2022, there will be no on-site box offices due to the Corona measures in place. In addition, all tickets are not only personalized, but also valid only for a specific single day of visit. The visit date can be selected when purchasing tickets. This ensures that there are not too many people on the exhibition grounds at the same time. In addition to the admission ticket, one of the following documents must also be presented in each case for admission to the fairgrounds: Covid 19 vaccination certificate or convalescent certificate. Additionally, a photo ID will be checked for data match.
